Best Shopping Near Brushy Creek, TX: Malls, Outlets, IKEA & The Domain

Shopping Near Brushy Creek: From Everyday Errands to The Domain

La Frontera, Lakeline Mall, 1890 Ranch, The Domain, Round Rock Premium Outlets, IKEA and more — here's where people around Brushy Creek actually shop.

One of the things buyers sometimes underestimate about Brushy Creek is just how much shopping sits within a relatively short drive.

Brushy Creek itself is primarily residential, which is part of its appeal. You aren't living in the middle of a giant commercial district.

But drive ten or fifteen minutes in almost any direction and the options change quickly.

Need Target and groceries?

Easy.

Want an actual indoor mall?

You've got one.

Furniture project?

IKEA.

Outlet shopping?

Round Rock Premium Outlets.

Want to make shopping an entire afternoon with dinner afterward?

Head to The Domain.

And then there are the shopping areas you end up using constantly once you actually live here — La Frontera, 1890 Ranch, The Parke and the University Oaks area.

So here's the local version of where to shop when you live in Brushy Creek.

First: How Far Is Everything From Brushy Creek?

For consistency, I'm using the Great Oaks/Brushy Creek Community Center area as the approximate center point.

A current listing in Woods of Brushy Creek places both La Frontera and Lakeline Mall at roughly seven minutes and The Domain at about fifteen minutes under favorable traffic conditions, which lines up well with the surrounding road network.

Shopping AreaTypical lighter trafficBusier weekday trafficToll needed?
La Frontera~7–12 min~12–20+ minOptional
Lakeline Mall~7–12 min~10–20 minNo
1890 Ranch / The Parke~12–18 min~18–30 minUsually no
The Domain~15–20 min~20–35 minUsually no
Round Rock Premium Outlets~15–20 min~20–35 minNo
IKEA / University Oaks~15–20 min~20–35 minNo

Important: these are practical ranges, not guaranteed travel times. RM 620, Whitestone/1431, Parmer and I-35 can all change quickly during commute periods, accidents or major shopping weekends.

Now let's talk about what is actually at each one.

la_frontera_map

La Frontera: The “I Need to Get Five Things Done” Shopping Area

If you live in Brushy Creek, La Frontera is probably one of the shopping areas you'll use most often.

This isn't necessarily where you're going for a leisurely luxury-shopping afternoon.

It's where you go when you need:

Shoes.

A book.

Home décor.

Beauty products.

Clothes.

Pet supplies.

Craft supplies.

Something from Lowe's.

And somehow you also need lunch.

La Frontera Village sits right around I-35 and SH 45, and its current retail lineup includes major names such as Kohl's, Burlington, Hobby Lobby, Marshalls, Old Navy, World Market, Boot Barn, Barnes & Noble, Ulta and Painted Tree Boutiques, with Lowe's and Sam's Club nearby.

The current center map also shows businesses including Bath & Body Works, Skechers, Petco and Daiso.

And I particularly like the fact that Barnes & Noble is still here — complete with its café.

Why La Frontera is useful from Brushy Creek

Because it's close enough to be an errand destination, not an excursion.

You don't need to plan your whole day around going there.

You can run into Barnes & Noble, Marshalls and Ulta and still be home before you've convinced yourself you needed anything else.

Traffic tip

The biggest issue here isn't distance.

It's the I-35/SH 45 interchange.

Midday and weekends can be easy. Weekday afternoon traffic can add noticeable time.

If traffic is backed up, SH 45 North can sometimes help depending on where you're entering from — but it is tolled.

More on that below.

Lakeline Mall: Yes, We Still Have a Traditional Mall

Lakeline Mall

Lakeline Mall

Address: 11200 Lakeline Mall Dr, Cedar Park, TX 78613, United States
Categories: Shopping mall

If what you want is an actual:

park → walk inside → shop from store to store → food court → leave

mall experience...

this is the one.

Lakeline Mall is at 11200 Lakeline Mall Drive in Cedar Park and currently has more than 120 stores.

Current anchors and recognizable retailers include:

Dillard's
JCPenney
Macy's
H&M
American Eagle
Buckle
Victoria's Secret
Build-A-Bear Workshop
Foot Locker
Vans
Hot Topic
Bath & Body Works

There's also an AMC movie theater.

Why I wouldn't overlook it

Outdoor lifestyle centers get most of the attention now, but there is still something incredibly practical about an indoor mall in Central Texas.

July afternoon?

Air conditioning.

December shopping?

Everything is together.

Need clothes for three different people and nobody agrees on a store?

Mall.

And from many Brushy Creek streets, Lakeline is surprisingly close.

Traffic & toll situation

From the central/western portions of Brushy Creek, you can generally reach Lakeline using O'Connor, RM 620 and the local road network without paying a toll.

183A sits nearby, but you usually don't need it simply to reach the mall.

1890_ranch_map

1890 Ranch: Cedar Park's Big Everyday Shopping Zone

1890 Ranch on Whitestone Boulevard is one of those places where you can accidentally lose half a Saturday.

The center is about 900,000 square feet, and its current major tenants include Super Target, Natural Grocers, PetSmart, Hobby Lobby, Academy Sports + Outdoors, Burlington, Ross and Cinemark.

So if you're moving into a house and you need:

Storage bins.

Dog food.

Running shoes.

A movie.

Groceries.

Curtain rods.

Things from Target you absolutely did not go to Target to buy...

this is your place.

From Brushy Creek

You're generally heading west/northwest toward Whitestone Boulevard.

The drive itself isn't particularly long.

The wildcard is 1431/Whitestone traffic.

Weekday afternoons and Saturdays can make the final few miles feel considerably longer than the map suggests.

the_parke_map

The Parke: The Other Cedar Park Shopping Center You Should Know

Right across the broader 183A/Whitestone retail corridor is The Parke.

And honestly, if you're writing a relocation guide, I wouldn't lump this together with 1890 Ranch because the store mix is different enough to matter.

Current tenants include:

Nordstrom Rack
Whole Foods Market
Dick's Sporting Goods
World Market
Ulta
Old Navy
Michaels
Marshalls
DSW
Cavender's
Five Below
Petco

plus restaurants and other services.

This is one of the better multi-stop shopping areas near Brushy Creek because Whole Foods, clothes, shoes, sporting goods and home stores are all in the same general zone.

Toll note

The Parke sits right beside 183A Toll, but you don't necessarily have to get on the toll road to shop here.

Local access and frontage roads can work perfectly well.

Whether paying the toll makes sense depends on where in Brushy Creek you're starting and what traffic looks like that day.

The Domain: When Shopping Becomes the Activity

The Domain

The Domain

Address: 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, Austin, TX 78758, United States
Categories: Shopping mall

This is a completely different shopping trip.

The Domain currently has more than 115 stores and restaurants in the Simon portion alone, while neighboring Domain NORTHSIDE expands the retail, dining and entertainment footprint even further.

The current mix includes everything from:

Aritzia
Zara
Alo
Anthropologie
Dillard's
Dick's Sporting Goods

to luxury retailers including:

Cartier
Dior
Balenciaga
Burberry
Christian Louboutin
Saint Laurent
Tiffany & Co.

Domain NORTHSIDE adds stores and businesses including Apple, CB2, Design Within Reach, Away and Abercrombie & Fitch.

So this isn't really an “I need toothpaste” trip.

This is:

Shopping.

Lunch.

More shopping.

Coffee.

Dinner.

Maybe a movie or entertainment afterward.

How long from Brushy Creek?

Under lighter traffic, around 15–20 minutes is realistic from central Brushy Creek. Current local housing information also places The Domain around 15 minutes from Woods of Brushy Creek, while broader rush-hour estimates for Brushy Creek put Domain travel closer to 15–25 minutes.

During heavier afternoon traffic, I'd budget closer to 20–35 minutes.

Do you need a toll?

Usually, no.

Parmer Lane is often the straightforward route south and does not require a toll.

Depending on traffic and the exact starting point, navigation may occasionally suggest SH 45 or another alternate route, but I wouldn't build my normal Domain commute around paying tolls.

Round Rock Premium Outlets: When You're Going Specifically to Shop

Round Rock Premium Outlets

Round Rock Premium Outlets

Address: 4401 N Interstate Hwy 35, Round Rock, TX 78664, United States
Categories: Outlet mall

Head north instead and you get an entirely different retail experience.

Round Rock Premium Outlets currently advertises more than 115 stores.

Current stores include:

Nike Factory Store
Coach Outlet
Michael Kors Outlet
Kate Spade Outlet
Polo Ralph Lauren Factory Store
Adidas Outlet
Banana Republic Factory
J.Crew Factory
Columbia Factory Store
Calvin Klein
Tommy Hilfiger
Under Armour
Vans
Le Creuset Outlet
Sephora

This isn't usually an errand run.

You go here because you're shopping.

Shoes.

Clothes.

Gifts.

Seasonal sales.

Holiday shopping.

And because it's open-air, my personal strategy would be:

Texas summer = arrive earlier.

The weather and parking lot both become less charming as the day goes on.

Traffic

From the western Brushy Creek area, you're generally working your way toward I-35 north and University Boulevard.

A location off Wyoming Springs — just northeast of Brushy Creek — places the outlets at roughly an 11-minute drive, so 15–20 minutes from central Brushy Creek in lighter traffic is a reasonable planning range.

I would allow 20–35 minutes when 1431 or I-35 is moving poorly.

You do not need a toll road to get there.

ikea_round_rock_map

IKEA + University Oaks: Make One Trip and Get Everything

IKEA Round Rock

IKEA Round Rock

Address: 1 IKEA Way, Round Rock, TX 78665, United States
Categories: Furniture store

Directly across University Boulevard from the outlets is IKEA Round Rock.

And yes — the full Round Rock IKEA is still open.

IKEA confirms the store at 1 IKEA Way remains the Austin-area full-size store and is located directly across University Boulevard from Round Rock Premium Outlets.

That makes this whole area ridiculously convenient when you're furnishing or updating a house.

Because surrounding IKEA is University Oaks Shopping Center.

Its current tenant lineup includes JCPenney, Ross Dress for Less and DSW, among other businesses.

You'll also find Five Below, and Burlington opened a University Oaks location in 2026.

So you can realistically do:

IKEA → DSW → Ross → Burlington → JCPenney → Outlets

without changing general areas.

That's either extremely convenient...

or financially dangerous.

Depends on the day.

One Shopping Trip I Would Actually Plan

If you need a serious shopping day after moving into a Brushy Creek home, I'd combine:

Round Rock Premium Outlets + University Oaks + IKEA

They're basically one shopping district divided by University Boulevard and I-35 access.

Start at IKEA before you're tired.

Then University Oaks.

Lunch.

Then outlets.

Because doing IKEA after three hours of outlet shopping sounds like a punishment.

And What About Tolls?

This is the part that can confuse people relocating here.

You can reach every shopping destination in this guide without paying a toll.

But Brushy Creek sits close enough to SH 45 North and 183A that navigation may offer tolled alternatives when traffic is heavy.

SH 45 North

Around Brushy Creek, relevant SH 45 North tolling points include O'Connor Drive, RM 620 and the Lake Creek mainline.

For 2026, two-axle electronic-tag rates include:

O'Connor ramps: $1.20
RM 620 ramps: $1.18
Lake Creek mainline: $1.36

Drivers without a tag pay 50% more on TxDOT's Austin-area toll roads.

That does not mean every trip costs the sum of those amounts. Your total depends on exactly where you enter, exit and which tolling points you pass.

183A Toll

The portion of 183A nearest Brushy Creek uses separate toll points.

For 2026, two-axle rates include:

Brushy Creek ramps: $0.78 tag / $1.17 pay by mail
Lakeline mainline: $0.87 tag / $1.31 pay by mail
Park Street mainline: $2.00 tag / $3.00 pay by mail

Again, you only pay for the tolling points your route uses.

My rule?

For a seven-minute shopping trip, I probably wouldn't pay a toll to save two minutes.

For Friday afternoon gridlock?

Different conversation.

Which Shopping Area Is Best for What?

If you're standing in your Brushy Creek kitchen wondering where to go:

Quick errands and everyday shopping:
La Frontera

Traditional indoor mall:
Lakeline Mall

Target + sporting goods + movie:
1890 Ranch

Whole Foods + Nordstrom Rack + home/shoe stores:
The Parke

Furniture and move-in shopping:
IKEA + University Oaks

Outlet deals:
Round Rock Premium Outlets

Shopping + restaurants + an entire afternoon out:
The Domain

And this is really the point.

Brushy Creek Gives You Access Without Living in the Middle of Retail

One of the things I like about the geography of Brushy Creek is that the commercial areas tend to sit around it rather than through the middle of it.

Head south and west:

Lakeline.

Head west:

1890 Ranch and The Parke.

Head south:

The Domain.

Head east:

La Frontera.

Head north:

IKEA and Round Rock Premium Outlets.

That allows much of Brushy Creek itself to remain residential while putting a surprisingly large amount of shopping within roughly a 10-to-20-minute drive when traffic cooperates.

You don't need every store at the entrance of your subdivision.

Sometimes it's nicer to have the trees and trails there instead...

and Target ten minutes away.

Thinking About Moving to Brushy Creek?

When you're comparing homes, distance doesn't tell the whole story.

Two Brushy Creek addresses may be equally close to a shopping area on a map but have very different access depending on whether you need to cross 620, reach SH 45, fight 1431 traffic or hop onto Parmer.

At Hoyden Homes, we help buyers look at how the location actually works — shopping, commuting, trails, schools, parks and the everyday drives you're going to make long after the moving boxes disappear.

Because sometimes one of the most important questions about a house really is:

“How far am I from Target?”
